High IQ with adorable special charm. CURLY FLATS KUROBUTA is a black pig or simply “Kurobuta” in Japanese or Berkshire pig. They are slightly smaller than ordinary pigs, and are characterized by having a white pattern called on its legs, tail, and face. Our foundation herd came from the famous Tabata Stud Pig Farm. Pigs were Mr Tabata`s life and sadly he had to retire from pig farming but was very protective of where his pigs would go. We were lucky enough to get Pig Sushi, Nana, Roku and Doesn`t as our foundation pigs. They had been raised inside and it took a few days before they were brave enough to go out side and roam freely. We are always amazed at the rich emotional expression, sociability, and wisdom of pigs. They busily work to dig up foreign substances in stones and soil, uproot weeds, and cultivate fields.
